This year I have been loving the look of cedar garland and how it drapes off the side of a fireplace mantel. As I was scouring Instagram for inspiration, I stumbled on a tip of adding multiple layers of garland to achieve a really full look.
Here is a quick break-down of how I put my mantel together. It’s a pretty simple set-up this year, but still feels homey. I linked all the sources at the end of the post!

Clean and ready to decorate!

I began by removing the red berries from this garland I found at Hobby Lobby. It tells me it’s out of stock, but they have it in stores!

Here I added a second garland to drape down the sides of the fireplace. I used 3M hooks on each side of both pieces, and I also used one in the middle of the fireplace to keep it from falling.
I also layered some garland I already had on top of the garland from the previous photo. In total there are four garlands. I’m also now saying garland so much that it’s sounding like a weird word.

I still love these candlesticks. They are so versatile!

I found these bells at Target, but I really wanted the copper look. I decided to buy five of them and also bought this spray paint. It took me about two minutes to spray them down, and then I used some black velvet ribbon to knot them together. They turned out so pretty!

Next I added an angel I already had, plus these stockings from Pottery Barn Kids. I love them because you can choose the character for each family member and customize their name. Hank as the abominable snowman is pretty fitting.

Would you believe me if I told you the black basket and smaller birch wood branches are from the Target Dollar Section? Believe it!
I hope this gives you a little inspiration if you were looking for some, and if you use any of these pieces be sure to tag me on Facebook or Instagram!

Loving the greens and whimsical stockings🎅🏽
Thank you!
