When I began searching for art work for the My Happy Haven room, I couldn’t have been more excited to find a set of prints that perfectly married all the colors of the room. One of the first decisions I made for the room was it’s paint color, so I thought I’d share how I went through this process and how it began the decision-making for the rest of the colors of the room.

Choosing a Paint Color
When an application for My Happy Haven is approved, one of the first steps is to meet the client and discover their wants and needs for their room. It’s also a time to get a taste of what they like for decor, and in Kim’s case, she liked farmhouse decor and alluded to liking olive greens. I knew she wasn’t afraid of colors on her walls because her living room is a navy blue, so this gave me some confidence in choosing a color that wasn’t a neutral.
Like most projects I begin, I went to Pinterest and searched ‘sage green paint.’ This is where I found Sherwin Williams’ Color of the Year 2022: Evergreen Fog. So pretty.

Kim’s room had one large wall with no windows where the bed would be placed, so I decided this would be my accent wall with the Evergreen Fog paint.
Another great aspect of searching for paint on Pinterest is you can also often find other colors that companies/bloggers suggest go together. I found this post by Living Letter Home that gave suggestions on coordinating colors, and since I had already used Alabaster by Sherwin Williams in our bedroom, I decided to use it again!

PPG of Mason City donates all the paint for the bedroom, so they were able to do a color match for me that turned out beautifully.
Choosing Artwork
I knew I wanted some artwork to go above the side tables next to the bed, so I went to Collection Prints to look first. I’ve used their artwork a few times in my own home, and have always loved what I’ve found.
As soon as I saw the Fall Foilage I and II prints, I knew they’d be perfect in the room and would look great with the paint colors I’d already picked.

I also loved how they looked with the black accents in the room, and the added texture with the pampas grass.
