Talk to Me Tuesday: April Recap

This month I was invited into four rooms to offer suggestions ranging from hiding toys to a complete room layout.

And the latter may have been my toughest room yet! Let’s dive in.

This is a nice sized room, and my first thought was since the furniture was dark, we could lighten some things up for contrast. I suggested using the paint color White Dove by Benjamin Moore. I also thought lightening the curtains would be a nice change as well.

I love her rug, the only problem is it’s too small for the space. Ideally it would fit under the front legs of her couches. She also has a gallery wall going, so I suggested using this set for a new take on it.

With that, I also thought two ottomans might be good so they can be moved toward the smaller couch if someone was sitting there. They also offer storage!

Above the tv, I suggested adding some art, layered with some decor to simplify and freshen things up. Here are the items I suggested:

The next follower sent in photos looking for suggestions on toy storage and mantle decor.

She already had a cute set-up going on the right, so I wanted to leave that alone and not fix what isn’t broken.

I suggested adding a cushioned storage bench to hide toys within the slots, but this suggestion also doubles as more storage on top of the bench or more seating.

I also found an art print to hang next to the deer, and thought using one of the antlers from her mantle to hang on the wall would make a nice grouping.
