This was my third trip to the Big Easy, and we still found plenty to do I hadn’t done or seen before! Here’s a quick recap of our trip, including where we stayed, our favorite places we ate, and some outfits and vacation items that worked great for the trip.
Where We Stayed

The Natchez Vacation Rentals offers 2, 3, or 4 bedroom suits that were in a great location. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom, and we loved having a pool and hot tub area to relax in after many miles of walking.
Favorite Stops

A grilled cheese and frozen Irish Coffee from Erin Rose were two favorites, especially the coffee pick-me-up after being awake since 330am to catch our flight!

The girls and I were excited to snag a spot at the Carousel Bar, which is a carousel themed rotating bar.

We enjoyed a café au lait and beignet after supper, and it was the perfect treat. These beignets are truly like no other, and if you go in the evening there’s rarely a wait!

Of course we had to check out the sights and sounds of Bourbon Street.

The next morning we had brunch at the Ruby Slipper Cafe, and it was fantastic. I ordered the breakfast tacos with chorizo and I’ll be thinking about them for a long time.

We headed out to the Garden District to check out the beautiful homes. Tate was our tour guide and took us on a one mile adventure. We saw the homes of Sandra Bullock and John Goodman, and couldn’t believe the beautiful architecture and detail on these homes. We also viewed the Lafayette Cemetery where Double Jeopardy was filmed.

This photo was taken next to a corn stalk fence which was built for the wife of the owner who was originally from Iowa and missed her home.

We took a three minute ferry ride across the Mississippi to Algiers Point, known for its cozy little pubs, art galleries, and Creole cottages. This was a really neat way to see the city from the water.

For supper that night we ate at Palace Cafe and it was delicious! We also got to see a bride walk in with her dress and umbrella, like you see in the movies. So fun.

The cemetery tour was one of the coolest things we did. There were a lot of interesting stories, including one about this tomb which belonged to Marie Laveau, voodoo queen.

Lunch at Muriel’s next to Jackson Square was delicious.

The girls and I decided to get a reflexology massage, and it was 30 minutes well spent!

A stop at one of America’s oldest establishments, Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar, which has been serving patrons since the 1700s.

Before leaving for our trip, the girls and I decided we needed some spa time, so we booked appointments at Woodhouse Spa. We were pampered with robes, sandals, and drinks upon arrival, and we each had some our favorite massages and facials we’ve ever experienced!
On our last evening we headed to Frenchman Street. I’m a sucker for live music, so I really enjoyed listening to the bands and watching people dance.

Our last meal was definitely one of our favorites at the Gumbo Shop! I didn’t know this at the time, but a friend told me their cantaloupe daiquiris are delicious if you ever go.
Favorite Things I Wore
Click to shop this outfit! Earrings from Nash and Ivy linked here. This is an outfit I wore on one of our nights out.

Click to shop this outfit! We ended up walking a ton, so I wore my tennis shoes a majority of the time, but I had this outfit packed to wear for a night out! I really love the layered lace skirt under the sweater look right now. And I grabbed this glow stick to throw on my legs for a bronze shimmer.

Click to shop this outfit! These items were my most-worn, simply because of how much we walked. Some of these items are more investment pieces, some of which I’ve owned for years or gotten as gifts!

Tate had pants on???? WTH???
Haha a rare sighting 😅
A fabulous vacation-you had so many amazing adventures!
Yes we did!
