Kitchen Decor for $25 or Less

Two years after moving into our home, the space above our kitchen cabinets was still empty. Even my husband, who rarely has an opinion on the decor of our home, asked, “Are you planning on putting anything up there?” Slight nudge noted 😉

I thought I wanted something up there, but I didn’t know where to start and we have a lot of upper shelving that could be decorated so even knowing where to start seemed overwhelming. And I didn’t want to spend a lot of money!

I decided to begin with what I had, which included some old recipe books I could use for display, some amber glass jars I’d collected previously, and a coffee canister from a trip to New Orleans.

From there, I just slowly added to the mix. And all the items were $25 or less. Heck yeah.

I decided to put an old recipe book on a recipe stand to add some height. I like bookmarking both ends of the shelf with some taller pieces.

Once my ends were done, I filled in with bowls of artichokes, cute little stands, greenery, layered with art, and added trays to group items together.

A friend asked about decor above her kitchen cabinets, so if you’re unsure what to do or maybe need a little change, here are a few items I found you could include in your home! As I mentioned before, I like height on my ends and in the middle, and I like to layer with art or trays. I hope this helps!
