Mascara Mania

If you want to evoke passion to a group of women, ask them about their favorite mascaras. The lucky ones that have found their favorite insist it’s the best, and for them, they’re probably right! These are all my humble opinions, so if I don’t love one that you already use and love, please don’t come at me with your mascara wand!

Anyway, it had been on my mind to try and find a new mascara for awhile, but when a friend posted about Sephora’s option to buy their best-selling mini mascaras, I decided what better time then now. I also had been wanting to try Arbonne’s mascara that my sister and a few friends really loved.

So, what were the results? I actually really loved two. So instead of choosing, I put a poll up on Instagram and made my followers choose! I also rounded up all the suggestions given to me on this super-important journey.

Judgement Day

1. Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara, $28

I gave this one a 3/5. I wasn’t a huge fan of the brush, and it felt like I’d need to apply a lot of coats to get the results I wanted.

2. Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara, $28

I loved this one and gave it a 5/5. I liked the brush and how it applied. Not too thin, but also not so chunky.

3. Milk Makeup Rise Mascara, $28

This is another win for me and a 5/5. If I had to choose between this one and the Ilia, I liked the brush on this one slightly better.

4. Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara, $20

I gave this one a 4/5. But Selena Gomez gets a 10/10 because we aren’t about that mean girl energy going on right now ;). Anyway, this one was good and slightly cheaper, which helps, but I didn’t love it as much as options 2 and 3.

5. Too Faced Deluxe Better than Sex Mascara, $28

This was another 4/5 for me. It was good, but I didn’t love it as much as options 2 and 3. Which isn’t what this mascara wants to hear with a name like that.

Now I’m jumping out of the Sephora box to two other options I tried. The first was Arbonne’s Speak Volumes Mascara, $31.

I will admit, this one was good but not my favorite at first test, but a friend told me that after a couple uses and some air in the tube, it is much better. And I agree! After using it for a few days, I’d give this one a 5/5.

The other mascara I tried is Maybelline Full and Soft mascara, $7.99.

This is a great drug store option. If you prefer a thinner wand and not too much mascara on the brush when applying, this is a great option.

And now, in true Enneagram 9 fashion, I narrowed it down to my favorite two options and then made Instagram choose.

What were the choices? Looking at the photo, the eye on the left, with 15% of the votes, was option 3- Milk Mascara. And the winner? With 85% of the votes, Arbonne’s Speak Volumes Mascara!

Like I said before, it wasn’t my favorite at first application. But after a couple days, I realized why people love it so much. I really felt like it untangled my lashes and drew out their length. I’m also excited to use this one because Arbonne’s products are clean, so another win!

Finally, here is a roundup of mascaras recommended to me during my eyelash enhancing journey. I would have loved to try them all, but that’s expensive! Thank you to everyone who sent me their favorites and they are definitely worth checking out, as I saw some with 8k+ reviews!
