This is absolutely my favorite pool patio decor to date. My love for Delft Blue began a few years ago when my in-laws came home from a trip overseas and brought me back a Delft Blue ornament. It was beautiful!
Fast forward to a few years later and Tate and I got to go to Amsterdam and see all the Delft Blue for ourselves. I’d share a photo of us picking out a treasure, but most my photos from our trip in 2014 consist of orange-filtered Snapchat pictures.

Unfamiliar with Delft Blue? According to the Royal Delft website, Royal Delft began creating Delft Blue pottery in 1653.
Everything is hand-painted, and training to paint Delft Blue pieces takes eight years! The pottery is marked with the painter’s initials and a year code on the bottom of the piece. This system began in 1879.
This is the piece I got in Amsterdam. It’s one of my favorite things I got on our trip.

It’s a little tough to see, but my Delft ornament sits top and center of the ornament tree every year.

Anyway, I was on the hunt for a new outdoor rug by the pool for this year, and I knew I wanted blue. I thought I wanted baby blue until I found this Fontaine Delft Blue rug by Ruggable. I opted not to buy the rug pad, cutting the cost by a lot.
This is my first time buying a Ruggable rug, and I have to admit I’m excited about being able to wash it.
Remember this Reel I shared about my new flower pot? This rug was the inspiration.

Now we need to get this pool whipped into shape so the kids can swim! Do you have any Delft in your home? I love trying to find some when I’m thrifting. You can find the link to this rug here, as well as some other cute outdoor rug options!
