Over the course of the summer, I’ve had a lot of fun redesigning our church’s adult Sunday School room. This room serves many purposes, and was in need of an update! With the help of our resident construction experts, Steve and Steve, and painter extraordinaire, Randy, we were able to put together a peaceful, tranquil space.
Let’s take a look at what we were working with:

The main goal of the space was to decrease the echo. This was a huge gripe, so Steve found some noise reducing ceiling tile and installed them in smaller pieces.
After an initial cost of paint, I asked Steve to install vertical shiplap for me. We went over a few different ways to do this, but the concern was how far everything would stick out. I then found this article on Pinterest where plywood was used to get the shiplap look, and this not only solved our problem with the wood sticking out too far, but also was far less expensive.

Once this was done, Randy came back to paint the shiplap wall and wainscoting Evergreen Fog by Sherwin Williams. This is such a pretty, soft green that I also used in a previous My Happy Place room.

Putting it All Together
Once the painting was finished, it was time to hang the rest! Here is the room, ready to be used.

I loved this large art print from Hobby Lobby and thought it was a great match to the paint.

This little bookshelf with her arch is one of my favorite pieces in the room! I styled it with a vase, flowers, and object from Hobby Lobby, and used two old Bibles as well.

These cute art pieces are from Hobby Lobby as well.

This is the third room I’ve used this tree in. Probably won’t be the last.

These medallions from Maple Lane Market are so great for large walls and are great for adding texture.

This rug is 14×17 from Amazon!

I love the black and wood tones of this clock from Target.

I’ve been waaiitttiinnngggg to use these sconces in a room for so long! I love them. So much.

I hope this space is enjoyed by many for years to come! It was a really fun space to design and I loved how it turned out.
