Grace’s Bedroom Update

Two years ago I attempted to add gold foil decals to Grace’s walls, and they fell down almost instantly. I believe it’s due to the type of paint used in the room, plus the fact that the walls are lathe and plaster.

I recently noticed Sydney of @diysquid on Instagram stencil her walls, and I decided to give it a try!

We went to Sherwin Williams and Grace chose the paint color Jaipur Pink and I picked Privilege Green for the leaves. The stencil is from Etsy, and with a little spray adhesive we were good to go!

I tried pretending I could stencil the flowers on Willy-nilly, but after a few it became clear that my slightly type A self needed a little more order to the process.

Most the items in the room are repurposed, thrifted, or affordable, including this beautiful bookshelf from Walmart. I honestly love that it has wood paneling in the back and its aesthetic fits well in one of the oldest rooms of our home.

One of my favorite additions are these adorable cafe curtains from Amazon. I think the bows are so cute. I had to play with different ways to tie them since I decided to use rings to hang the curtains, and I love how they turned out.

This whole room update began because I found these pillows online and thought how cute they’d be for Grace. This also happens to be one of my favorite affordable pillow shops.

So have I convinced you to stencil your home if wallpaper isn’t an option? Let me know what you think of the room in the comments!
